Heiki Liss
Mills College
Heike Liss
is a visual artist mostly working in photography and video. She grew
up in Germany where she studied Social Anthropology and Ethnology.
In 1999 she moved to California where she lives with her husband and
their two children. She is currently enrolled in the Graduate Program
of Fine Arts at Mills College in Oakland. Over the
last ten years her work has been shown in Germany, Austria, France,
Chile and California. She has collaborated with French choreographer
François Verret, Australian Composer Josephine Truman, German
conceptual artist Uta Weyrich, Californian language poet Lyn Heijinian
and others. Since 1999 she frequently works with video artist Ellen
Lake. Under the name Liss & Lake, they utilize spy cameras and
video for sight specific interventions and installations in public
spaces. Liss is the recipient of a Murphy and Cadogan Award. |
