Andrew John Liccardo received his BA from Loyola University of Chicago and his M.F.A. from Texas Tech University, in Lubbock, Texas. He currently teaches photography part time at Texas Tech. He is also employed at the Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library, the university’s historical archive, where he works on projects associated with the Collections extensive photograph holdings.Andrew’s current photographic work examines the cultural and geographic landscape with a specific focus on how the built environment can act as a barometer of our cultural evolution. He understands landscape in broad terms, as a uniquely human construct and seeks to understand it as a dynamic system that both absorbs and reflects us. He is currently involved in a documentary project called the Millennial Collection. The project explores the idea of time and place and questions the nature of documents. The project is ongoing and being collected by the Southwest Collection.
