Joseph Sweeney University of Northern Iowa www.killconnect.com Joseph Sweeney received a B.A. in Art from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls in 1998 and will complete an M.A. in Art in 1999, also at the University of Northern Iowa. After graduating, he plans to pursue an M.F.A. in photography and/or film and video. Sweeney’s current body of work is entitled "MASS," and deals with the condition of being obese or overweight. The photographs are all self-portraits; their purpose is to display a wide range of emotions connected with the evolving self-image of a larger person and to show his body in states of stasis and motion.
