Bennie Flores Ansell University of Houston Benedikte Flores Ansell was born on January 5, 1967, in Manila, Phillipines. She moved to Connecticut in June of that year, where she lived until the age of ten. Her family then moved to Tampa, Florida, where she received her BA in Photography from the University of South Florida in 1989. In May, she completed her graduate studies at the University of Houston. Flores Ansell organized the moving van art space entitled, "How’s My Driving?" for Fotofest ‘98. Her art has been seen in several group exhibitions, including Fotofest-sponsored "Blurred Boundaries" in October, 1998, at Winter Street Gallery in Houston, Texas, as well as the "Half and Half" show that is currently on exhibit at the Purse Studio Gallery. Her first solo exhibition was in February, 1998, at Lawndale Art Center in Houston. In the year 2000, she will have a solo exhibition at the Austin, Texas Art Gallery, Women and Their Work.
