She is currently an MFA candidate in Photographic Studies at Arizona State University. The Photographic Studies program combines studio work, scholarly research and museum management. As the gallery manager of ASU's Northlight Gallery, Jinyoung overseas the care of a 4000 fine art photographic print collection, while coordinating the gallery's active exhibition schedule.

Jinyoung's research emphasis is on contemporary Korean photography; and her photographic project focuses on creating grotesque images that can also be beautiful. Her photographs are made by combining color images of organic forms through an in-camera double exposure technique.
