David Najjab

Bard College

David Najjab received his B.A.  In Art and Performance from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1988 and is currently working on an MFA in Photography at Bard College.  His work, photographs of his family and his community, deal with issues of ethnic identity in contemporary America.

Najjab is a 1992 Mid-Atlantic /NEA Fellow, a 1995 Milton Avery Fellow and a recipient of an Instituto Cultural Award from the Mexican Government.  Among his recent exhibitions are one-person shows at Harvard University of California at Berkeley.  He will also be a part of the upcoming exhibit of contemporary southern photographers at the Birmingham Museum.  David Najjab currently lives in Texas where he teaches digital imaging.
