Jill Larson

Jill Larson earned a BFA in Photography from the Atlanta College of Art and will complete her MFA in March, 1994. Her photographs have been exhibited throughout the United States since 1983. Larson's most recent solo exhibition, Women in Prison was held at The Atlanta Photography Gallery. A review of this exhibit can be found in the May/June 1993 issue of Art Papers. Her work addresses issues of individualism, change , constraints, and struggle. Jill is working with layering photographs and text, work that is deeply engaged with an exploration of the self. In 1992, she was awarded Honorable Mention for Best Meritorious Work by an emerging artist for her piece The Perpetual Voice at the Atlanta Film and Video National Festival. During the summer of 1993, she will be publishing an artists' book at Nexus Press, Atlanta, Georgia entitled My Mother's Coming To Town.
