Andrew Harkins
University of Arizona, Tucson

Andrew grew up in Philadelphia and attended college in Connecticut. Currently, he is two-thirds through his MFA at the University of Arizona, Tucson, where he teaches the introductory course in photography and concerns himself with the process of making images.

His work has mainly been out of the documentary tradition and since his arrival in Tucson  he has been connected to a large community of senior citizens who winter in southern Arizona. More recently, illness has lead Andrew to direct his pursuits toward the more personal situation of his own life.

He has worked for over six years as a professional photographer, won numerous awards, exhibited his work across the country, and had work published internationally.
