Cinthea Fiss

Cinthea Fiss is a photographer, videographer and writer whose work is engaged with issues of gender and labor.  Her experiences working in traditional blue collar trades such as a Stationary Engineer, and mechanic in a high rise office building throughout the 80s informs much of her art work.

Fiss studied at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax and at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio.  In 1993, She received her MFA from California Institute of the Arts. She was also a curator for the Eye Gallery Photography Center in San Francisco.
